We went to the historic City of Jodhpur and as a family we really enjoyed alot.We tried the traditional Rajasthani Cuisine and some interesting activities and sightseeing when we were in Jodhpur.

First we Tried the famous Mehrangarh Fort which is one of the best Forts in Rajasthan.

The ariel Views from the Top of Mehrangarh Fort are exceptional. You can see the entire city of Jodhpur and you will know why it is also called the Blue City of Rajasthan .All the houses in old area are Painted Blue which is clearly visible from the Top of the Fort.

The interiors of the Fort are colorful and artistic as well.

There are some good spots where you can click dramatic pictures inside the Fort.

We explored a place famous amoung locals Toorji Ka Jhalra Bavdi , it is an artistic step well which was on our way to Sardar Market, the main market place in Jodhpur.

Sardar market is famous for Spices , Jodhpuri Bandini , footwear, accessories. Very colorful and busy market.

The Iconic ghanta Ghar [ clocktower ] is right in the middle of Sardar Market, another very popular landmark of Jodhpur.Another important place we visited was the famous Mandore gardens. There are many old temples, lakes, Chhatri which are dome shaped pavilions and lots of monkeys are there too so be careful of your stuff as they may just snatch from you and run away.

We tried snacks and food in Janta Sweet Home

Janta Sweet Home is one of the Best places in Jodhpur to try authentic snacks, sweets and Thali. We found out about the place and chose it reading the reviews online.

OOur 1st day in Jodhpur ended beautifully.

Next day we headed to straight see the best attraction in Jodhpur, The Umaid Bhawan Palace.

The Umaid Bhawan is accessible if you are a guest in the Hotel or in case you book a lunch reservation. Per night stay is approx 30,000 Rs and lunch reservation is minimum Rs 4,000 per person.

We tried a Non- Vegetarian Thali there is it is simply outstanding.

The concept was more like a Set Menu with starters , Thali and dessert at the end of the course.

But the entire Meal was really delicious , our favourites were Lal Maas and some authentic Rajathani dishes and they serve you in a ''Chandi'' ki Thali [ silver plate ] so you do get a royal experience.

The palace is magnificent , huge and beautiful and this is one place in Rajasthan where you will totally feel like living life kingsize.

The interiors of the Palace are very impressive and grand . A part of the palace is a Hotel and the rest of the Palace is still where the King of Jodhpur resides with his family.

The Dome is very grand ,the restrooms and other parts of the Palace are beautifully decorated with expensive Paintings , Leopard Skins and Stuffed Animal heads.

The Palace Gardens are well kept ,beautiful and very colorful.Amaira had a nice time chasing birds and Peacocks all around the Gradens of Umaid Bhawan Palace.

Visiting this grand Palace was one of the most memorable experiences we had in Jodhpur.Behind the Palace Gardens is a lovely lake and during sunsets we get  breath-taking views .The Palace has a museum which is open for Public Visits but because of Corona the Museum was shut.
