The Udaipur Solar Observatory (USO) is in Udaipur, Rajasthan in India on an island in the Fateh Sagar Lake. Since the observatory is situated amidst a large mass of water, air turbulence which occurs due to ground heating by sun's rays is decreased.

One of the finest observatory of India. They are doing observationsbof sun in the visible range.. With this telescope they are having GONG telescope which is part of global network.. And in radio array also they do sun's observation.. Nice to visit such place if you are interested in astronomy..

The Udaipur Solar Observatory (USO) is in Udaipur, Rajasthan in India on an island in the Fateh Sagar Lake.[1] The sky conditions at Udaipur are quite favourable for solar observations. Since the observatory is situated amidst a large mass of water, air turbulence which occurs due to ground heating by sun's rays is decreased. This improves the image quality and accuracy (average between 1-2 arc seconds).

Udaipur Solar Observatory (USO) is on an island in the middle of Fateh Sagar Lake built for doing solar research work. It was built in 1976 by Dr. Arvind Bhatnagar, It comprises a range of telescopes that provide excellent quality of solar observations. As air turbulence is lesser on an island, sharp pictures of the sun can be obtained. Asia's biggest telescope MAST(Multi Application of Solar Telescope) was installed here in 2013. The MAST has a lens with a diameter of 50cm. It provides 3D images of solar blast & solar flares.
