It's a great location, just at the end of the Mall. It has ample parking and is walking distance from all the historic locations in Shimla. Cecil is part of the 21 location heritage walk and come right in the middle as No 14. Worth staying here if you are looking for high end accomodation in the heart of the city.

Historic hotel with beautiful rooms and a lovely location allowing for a scenic walk to the mall road area and easy access to the vice regal lodge. If you’ve done it all, the rooms, views and restaurant / lounge area are lovely enough for you to spend an entire day here itself

Despite its name, the Oberoi’s Wildflower Hall is arguably at its most stunning in the winter, when the slopes and evergreens around it are covered with a thick layer of snow. The luxury enclave’s fireplaces and plush beds beckon, while its open-air Jacuzzi offers incredible Himalayan views.

Costly but Great... 1 star not given b'cas its so annoying for me that there is no different kitchens/staffs etc. for veg and non-vegetarian food (am not only doubting, am sure its happening there. This was my personal experience, your experience may vary) ... If you are a pure vegetarian, than avoid food here... Otherwise everything was just awesome.
