The Temple de la Sybille is a Roman-style monument situated at the highest point in Buttes-Chaumont Park, perched some 165 feet above the lake at its heart. It offers stunning panoramic views of Paris, making the hike to the top totally worthwhile.

The views are lovely from the temple, and there's plenty of space to sit and relax while you're up there. The climb is not so bad, and the views are really nice from bottom to top. I greatly recommend heading to the lower bridge as well, it's a suspension bridge designed by Gustav Eiffel and it's pretty cool to walk across. If you're afraid of heights the temple probably won't frighten you, but the suspension bridge might - it does give a wiggle as you walk across.

Been going here since I was a kid. Early morning and late afternoon are good times to sit alone
