Also known as Passerelle des Arts, the Pont des Arts is situated between the Institut de France and the Louvre. Built between 1801 and 1804, it was the first iron bridge in Paris. Reserved for pedestrians, the footbridge makes for a pleasant stroll with family and friends. It is a good location for holiday photos, as it offers fine views of the Seine and its monuments. The bridge is especially popular with couples.

Visited late afternoon and enjoyed the lovely view. A must see during your visit in Paris and very close to the Louvre. No more chain locks as there are glass covers now.But some have found other ways to put their locks!! Lovely view from far away of the Eiffel Tower!!

The Arts bridge was very popular earlier as its also known as "Love Lock" bridge. It was very crowded with people wanting to put their love lock on the bridge fence. Beside that, there were several artists making street portraits. This time, the bridge hadn't the same appearance to me. Very few people on it and the locks were removed few years ago due to their huge number and weight. Paris has much more beautiful bridges than this rather ordinary pedestrian one, so I think its popularity is gone with the locks.

Really romantic bridge. They've forbidden to put locks in the bridge thanks to some protecting glasses. What is great for the views. You can still put some locks in the lights so is also great for couples. Really recomendable.

Lovely pedestrian bridge across the Seine adjacent to the Louvre. During the nice weather there is art displayed here - hit and miss but great if it is happening. You can generally find really nice unobstructed views both up and down the river. Personally, I find it best at night. There is no cost here so give it a try. You will not be disappointed.

I visited there way back in 1989 but the weather was horrible. No cellphone pics back then and the Love Lock phenomenon wouldn't start until about 20 years later. I was grateful to visit The Louvre. Here's San Antonio's version here in the heart of Texas.
