This statue of Charles de Gaulle stands near the Champs Elysées. After the liberation of Paris, on the 26th of august 1944, de Gaulle paraded on the Champs Elysées. Some time later, he established the new formed government. Charles de Gaulle died in 1970 at the age of 80.

Great place to take photos, I don't know why but there were two buses of French police behind me, what could u do but turn and wave, to my surprise they waved back it made my day. I still remember it as though it was yesterday and it was a bit longer than yesterday
