The CENTQUATRE is a new Paris city council artistic establishment and a unique place devoted to production and innovation. Located in the 19th arrondissement on the site of the former Municipal Funeral Services, this 39,000 m² space is an ensemble of unique architecture and a place for the public to experience art. Run by José Manuel Gonçalves, this venue gives the public a new perception of the arts of today. The CENTQUATRE is versatile, dynamic, vibrant, open to all and a venue for talks, meetings and discovering new things. It combines impressive architecture with modern interior spaces and offers an innovative cultural experience. All types of art are present with resident artists and festivals. The CENTQUATRE also houses shops, a cafe, a restaurant and nearby public facilities for amateur artists and children to practice their skills. There are regular opportunities for the public to meet artists. These are a great chance to get an inside view of an artist’s work through talks, presentations of works, readings, public rehearsals, etc. There is an admission fee for these events. The CENTQUATRE also organizes sports activities and dance classes (some of these are free of charge). One Saturday each month, the Centquatre transforms into a dance hall for Bal Pop’ or Bal populaire, a ball which is open to the public. Expect lanterns, garlands, refreshments and a great atmosphere! From java, tango and waltz to current dance styles, the music unites Parisians, young and old, to have a drink and celebrate. Entrance to the dance is free!

Was a very nice venue for the concert I attended. Small and cozy, but with wonderful sound and comfortable seats. It was easy to find and the staff were extremely kind upon entering, and made sure you were where you needed to be. I would most definitely come here for another concert anytime!

An incredible community space; a buzzing huge indoor open space for dance, and all kinds of movement activities; a small market, a couple of reasonable cafe's, an awesome parent/baby play space (although limited entrance, so you have to wait sometimes). Sometimes installations too.

I assisted to PHD career fair & liked the place. Event was nice for those who seek jobs NOT for entrepreuneurs like myself. There is a nice coffee too.
