The Canal Saint-Martin in eastern Paris is a 4.5 km long canal that connects the Canal de L'Ourcq with the river Seine. It has nine locks and two swing bridges In the heart of Paris, away from the busy city, the Saint-Martin canal is a haven of peace that you can discover in calm and quiet from our boats ; for more than 150 years this canal links the Seine river, just behind Notre-Dame cathedral, to the canals of the Ourcq river and of Saint-Denis in the North of Paris, crossing the old quarters of the East of Paris in full revival. A cruise across this part of Paris – little known by the Parisians themselves - is a real discovery off the beaten track, which mixes relaxation and fun...

Walking along the Canal Saint Martin is the best relaxing thing you can do downtown Paris. Here you can feel the village-heartbeat of Paris. Many nice and small shops and bars along the canal

It's so great to be there during summertime! A lot of people are taking long walks up to the Bassin de Villette, others are sitting near the river banks talking, drinking some wine, playing music and having fun.. I really love it
