The Port Louis Municipal Theatre is one of the oldest theatres and playhouses of the southern hemisphere. The theatre stood on a plot of land conceded by General Hall, acting Governor in the absence of Sir Robert Farquar.

Not in use for a long time, nevertheless, the ministry of culture, the municipal council of Port Louis and some other private contributors have decided to renovate this national heritage, as at today we have only the outside view and the colour they have chosen is pleasant compared to as it was before, the interior is to be seen very soon...
