A beautiful place. A very nice hike followed by a really tough yet incredible climb. The view from the very top is to die for. Whenever you think the climb is getting more difficult make sure to keep going, it is one of the best things I’ve ever done.

This is a must if you’re in the area! Upon entry you will be asked to sign in. I’ve been there twice and on my second trip I was given a questionnaire to fill in, it was basically asking if there should be an entrance fee. I, being a Mauritian, disagreed to this. Although I feel if they want to charge guests then it should be upon the use of the restroom facilities. The hike itself can be a bit grueling as it’s an incline but the views are totally worth it. If you feel you are capable then I would highly recommend that you climb the mountain. Please do wear a cap, keep hydrated, bring sunblock and make sure your phone or camera is fully charged for all the photos that I guarantee you’ll be taking! Restaurants are a way away so pack something to eat for when you get back down to the entrance. You will find benches to sit on over looking the water while you eat that well deserved meal. Trust me, you’ll thank me later!

Amazing hike! Easy for first two thirds then quite a steep climb for last third. But all worth it for the views at the top!

Thai place has strong links to the past of the island. It is also a good stating point for hiking through the Trail entrance.
