Translating to ‘Sugar Adventure’, L’Aventure de Sucre is the famous museum that is all about sugar! Sitting in the enchanting village of Pamplemousses, this sugar museum gives travelers an opportunity to explore the ancient Beau Plan Sugar Factory that was up and running in the 18th to 20th century. The idea behind this museum was to highlight the historical and cultural side of the production of sugarcane in Mauritius. Started by amalgamation of three sugar groups namely Deep River Beau Champ Ltd, Constance La Gaiete Co Ltd, and Harel Freres Lts, this sugar museum was once a great contribution to the economy of Mauritius. It is really worth a trip. Here you can learn everything about the sugar industry in Mauritius in an original sugar factory. The exhibition need not shy away from comparison with international industrial museums. Really great. Entry costs money.

This place looks really nice. They have a tour for the factory which shows how rum is made. Since we had already seen that in chamarel we decided to skip the factory tour. However, we were sent for the tasting. They have rum tasting, sugar tasting and honey tasting. This was the first time I tried so many kinds of sugar. That was really different for me.

Very interesting museum about sugar. The rum part is fairly small, but learning about sugar was nevertheless very interesting. Rum was a side product of sugar so this makes sense to focus on sugar in this museum. The tasting of sugar and rum afterwards is very nice. Audio guide for free on your phone.

Great museum where you can find information related to Mauritius discovery, history and economic development. It's an old sugarcane factory turned into museum. You can taste sugarcane, different types of sugars and best part I think the rom tasting. There is a nice souvenir shop that you can buy presents.
