Santragachi, or Santragachhi, is a neighbourhood in Howrah, Howrah district, West Bengal, India. It is a part of the area covered by Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA). Santragachhi is also popular for its large lake, known as Santragachhi Jheel, which attracts migratory birds in the winter months.

It is a very big water body...under south eastern railways....there are many migrating birds that come here every winter season..... The maintenance of the place is very bad.....nobody cleans the lake, neighbouring houses discharges the drainage water into the lake..... It could have been a very good place if it is maintained strictly.....people must become more aware about the cleanliness of the lake especially the neighbouring houses...
