This open-air shopping center is a little out of the way, but it's an excellent place to buy Indian handicrafts and artifacts. You'll find many Indian state government emporiums there, stocked with fixed price goods from all over the country. Most rates are reasonable. Silence, a stand-alone store selling beautiful handicrafts made by differently-abled people, is worth visiting there too. Dakshinapan Shopping Center is also the place to buy inexpensive Indian clothing. End your shopping trip with a refreshing beverage at Dolly's Tea Shop.

If there’s a place which stands out in South Calcutta which offers you a shelter to take a breadth, relax and also do some shopping among the friendly merchants this is the one! Granted it’s not a fancy mall, nor it does provide any respite from the weather if you happen to stroll in during summer days but what it does provide is a relaxing atmosphere and casual buzz which is perhaps missing in many places. And by the way if you happen to stroll in during evening hours it’s a delight to walk in the cooling breeze and do some window shopping! If you’re tired of visiting malls and want a change certainly recommended. My suggestion will be to improve on the rooftop area there’s so much more which can be done there!
