Description
The descendants of Laksmikanta Roy Choudhury later on started living here from the year CE 1716 and carried on developmental works and since then it is the biggest settlement of the Sabarna family. The family also established other pujas like Chandi puja, Jagatdhatri puja etc. and also founded a large number of temples like the Annapurna Temple, Radhakanto temple, Dwadash Shiva Temples etc. The Barisha Rathayatra Utsav started in 1719 is one of the oldest in the city and is quite famous.

During Chandi Puja @Sahkerbazar. Huge fair with numerous stalls of every sort. Vibrant ambiance, alertness of one's surroundings might be beneficial. Would definitely recommend.

Always my favorite place... mostly during Chandi Mela. This time it's 227th year the Mela is celebrated. People from different places visit the Mela during this time. The bhog arrangement is fantastic. I think it's the oldest Mela in South Kolkata. Everyone do come here and enjoy the Mela atmosphere.

Nice temple, very old.. It was built in Pre-British era by Sarborno Roychoudhury. It's a very famous Hindu temple of Maa Chandi (Durga). It's good to visit during Chandi-Mela. Although Temple require more maintenance.
