The Laxmi Narayan Temple is commonly known as the Birla Temple and is located beneath the Moti Dungri Fort. As the name suggests, it is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. It is believed that it was built on the land given by the Maharaja to the Birla family for a token amount of just one rupee. The famous industrialists; the Birlas built this modern white marble temple in 1988. Luscious green gardens adds to the grandeur of the temple. You must visit this temple during ‘Janmashtami’, the birth ceremony of Lord Krishna as the festival is celebrated on a grand scale. There is a magnificent museum which exhibits the ancestral possessions of the Birla family. For shopaholics there is a shopping complex where numerous items are available.
