Church and Convent of St.Francis of Assisi - Goa    Share

This Church is one of the oldest Churches in Goa. It was built in 1661. It is a site where the mortal remains of the revered Patron Saint of Goa "Saint Francis Xavier" lie in a casket behind the altar. Its architecture is very beautiful. It is surrounded by lush green trees and also there is a beautiful landscape area in front of the church... It's a very peaceful place...It also contains artifacts, paintings, and sculptures that testify to Goa’s rich and vibrant history.

Such a great church i have ever visited. It has a mummy of Saint Francis which is shown to public after every 10 years. last time it was shown in 2014. This church has a sculpture of crucified Jesus Christ which hot red colour because it has bleed in many occasions. Moreover the church has an art gallery, light and sound program and a book store as well. Art gallery charges Rs 5/- per person snd light and sound show is Rs 20/- per person. It is the best church in Old Goa.

Very Good place to visit Very ambivalent and clean, peaceful place. This church was constructed around 1661 and is very well maintained, historic place with very good architectural designs. Photography with person os not allowed in promises. Museum is near this church is worth to visit if you like history. Entry ticket for museum is only Rs 10. Museum closes at 5:30 pm.

Love the architect of this church. It's seem very simple from inside. But actual beauty is the interior design and architect. The domes. The stairs And the foot walks. Really wonderful.

It's a great point to visit for architecture students and for others as well... It's a very peaceful and happy place ♥️ to visit... They have a very beautiful and a big landscape area in front of the church.. and beach is also near to this place so we will get a great view...
