The Castle of Schonenberg in Laeken was built on the initiative of the Austrian Archdukes and Governors-General of the Netherlands, Maria-Christina of Austria and Albrecht of Saxony-Teschen. The plans designed by French architect Charles de Wailly were executed by architect-contractor Louis Montoyer between 1781 and 1785. The castle gardens were designed in accordance with the instructions of well-known English landscape designer Lancelot (Capability) Brown.

The best place to see the castle filled with flowers! Ticket price is very cheap around 2.5€. Worth seeing the castle. They're maintaining it as big botanical garden. They've got all varieties of trees , plants and flowers! Worth visiting! Don't miss it.

We went for the Royal Greenhouses tour. Simply amazing and magical. It's like you are transported to another land.It's only open for 2 weeks a year so plan accordingly. Totally worth it. It only cost 2,50 Euros and was probably my favorite thing we did.

All I saw were fences and closed gates. In addition the church on the other side was barb-wired.

Closed for public most of time. Sweet feudal europe for the few.

It was a memorable experience also I was expected to see the kingdoms Palace but it was not allowed.
