Located in the heart of Bangkok, the Grand Palace is in fact a complex of buildings and has been the King of Siam's official residence since it was built in 1782. It's also been the home of the Thai King, Royal Court and the administrative seat of government for more than 150 years. The Grand Palace Bangkok is considered the spiritual heart of the Kingdom of Thailand and the palace complex features a number of impressive buildings including the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) which houses the small but famous and widely revered Emerald Buddha dating back to the 14th century. Considered Thailand’s most important Buddhist temple, Wat Phra Kaew enshrines the meticulously carved jade Buddha in the Lanna school meditating position.

It is one of the best places I have visited in my life, everything was very majestic, the architecture of the place was incredible, you definitely have to go in time to be able to tour the place well. Do not let in with shorts, sleeveless shirts or short blouses, before entering you can rent t-shirts or pants. I recommend that you wear a hat or umbrella because the sun is very intense.

Beautiful palace with some intricate handiwork. Takes about 2-3 hours to explore. Easier to get to via the river. Ticket counter closes at 3.30. Shorts and sleeveless are not allowed. You can rent/buy long pants from the shops on the main road though. Don't wear expensive shoes as you need to remove them to enter the temple.

What an amazing place. Magnificence at is best. I was in awe of the architecture, construction and ambiance of the palace. Would definitely recommend a visit but put a day aside to do all that is offered here. Ticket is only 500 baht and that covers entry as will add the museum and the bus transfer to the theatre.

Crowded with tourist. Beautiful Thais architectural buildings, with golden colour is the main theme. It was a cloudy day when we visited the palace so it was not too hot and we enjoy it The 500 baht ticket also including the dancing in the royal theatre as well, so don't forget about that. The dancing was done beautifully, with air-conditioning theatre is a big bonus.

No doubt this is a must and the best sightseeing place in the whole of Bangkok. I have never seen anything as amazing. Every building is different. The level of detail on each and the gold used is stunning. Busy with tourists as expected. 500 Bhat ( children under 120cm are free). Strict on dress code (sarong and covered shoulders, no spaghetti top and bare back). You will spend there at least an hour. Emerald Buddha temple will take your breath away. Go inside barefoot as everyone else (and o camera/video). Enjoy!!! (Note: there is a free drinking water station)
