Giant Swing - Bangkok    Share

I didn’t have high expectations when I decided to go see it, because after all it’s just a GIANT red swing. But, the fact that it was over 200 years old and, that it was a representation of some very old Hindu beliefs regarding Brahma and Shiva and the creation of the world....well, this piqued my interest. Many people died on these swings over the years trying to grab gold coins as they swung from this structure. I’m a history buff, and I could appreciate this history while viewing it...

This place open 24 hour daily. It is one of Bangkok symbolic. The history of this place is scarry and many people die here. You will enjoy the environment of this Giant swing. A lot of popular local restaurant and local desserts cafe. You also find famous temple with unique art. The temple will open from 6.00 to 17.00. The temperature around here is quite high not recommend for chill walking. At night you will find a lot of pub and restaurant. You can enjoy drink and food. It's start from 19.00 to 2.00.

Nice spot on way to grand palace. We didn't really feel need to stop at this place to venture inside. However we did stop for a few worthy photos.

The true symbol of Bangkok. Good to walk around this area because it is an old Bangkok which shows you how Bangkok people lived in the past. Highly recommended.
