Large portions under renovation when I went (Jan 2020), however still plenty to see. Exhibits of buddhas in temple within grounds was amazing and royal chariots were spectacular. Cheap, cheerful cafe on site offering drinks and limited food selection. As per all museums in this part of the world, the English translations of the object descriptions are brief and don't elaborate at all.

An interesting diversion. A few areas closed for renovation but still plenty to see. The Funeral Chariots on display are a hit. Not a lot of explanation but there is an app "Smart Museum" that looks like it should help guide you around but we were having issues. Might be worth downloading and going prepared. Once fully renovated, and if you can get the app to work, this will be a 5 star.

The museum has had a major makeover since my last visit. More interactive displays large panel photos better information better lighting etc. Still about a third of the space being renovated. Busy but not crowded. A couple of food options in the building complex and a small shop.

200 baht per entry which also includes the special exhibition. Avoid visit on Friday and weekends as traffic around the museum is bad. Highly recommended for those who are into the arts, culture and history of Siam. The exhibits can occupy one for at least half a day if one goes through everything thoroughly. Suggest one comes in socks and slip-on-slip-off shoes as some galleries require one to remove footwear before entering.

I had a really good time here. There is a lot to learn about Chinese and Thai history. There are beautiful murals that tell the story of wars fought in the past. Big statues of ancient kings. You should check it out.
