I was in the ranozaal at the back. It’s a great theatre. Truly a living breathing space. Some of this palatial building is devoted to being a restaurant and bar. There’s a lounge area with circular sofas and chandeliers. The stairs up the the theatre spaces are red and plush. The location is amazing right on leidseplein and the coat check is free. The shows are usually world class and Thursday nights you get sub titles for anyone who might not ha e mastered Dutch yet. The view from the rear.

The location has great sound quality with both Concerts and Performances. Theatre restaurant is comfortable. Would advise to visit a local cocktail lounge on Leidseplein afterwards. Google has an accurate display of Upcoming Events on their Overview page in Maps. Be sure to order your tickets in advance.

Nice theatre. Classic, balconies. You are quite close to the stage from all seats. For some shows they have English subtitles above the stage. Handy for tourists. But check beforehand if that is indeed the case for your chosen performance.

The theatre has a large restaurant for dining or hors d’ouevres before or afternoon the performance. The hall is basic and the seats rise all the way to the back which is quite far from the stage. I attended Othello in January 2020. The use of black and whites for costumes and the set made it feel very clean and modern. The choice of cast and the updated take on Othello added a political statement to an old plot. The audience was thrilled. Access to the theatre is simple. It is located at the Rembrandtplein tram stop. There is no need to be hassled by parking and traffic issues.
