Although the location on a side street near Leidseplein is quite convenient, this small restaurant looks a little worse for wear and the idea to cover the walls in red carpeting was hardly a stroke of genius. That said, we’re not interior snobs and décor always takes a back seat to the food when we write reviews. Unfortunately, despite attentive service and a selection of real Indian beers, the cuisine was average at best and the staff claimed that the credit card reader wasn’t working that evening – an old ploy inflicted on tourists at some Amsterdam eateries. Indian, Asian. Approx cost for two people Rs 600. .

Four stars only because I didn't try much! But whatever we ordered was simply so authentic! Will come back and I am perfectly sure that I will give that additional star!

Lacking of flare. Indian food is notoriously flavoursome and rich, I found the food we were served, to be safe and a little predictable, if not boring. I didn't see any pride in serving their food. The restaurant was busy, so clearly most people didn't share my feelings, but having eaten enough Indian food in my life and having opted to come here, rather than going to an Italian pizzeria, I was disappointed. We ordered onion baajis which didn't taste much. My husband ordered chicken korma, which is a rich, creamy sauce. But in this case, it was sweet and plain. No almonds could be detected and the extra ingredients that you normally get, were nowhere to be found. I ordered lentils and spinach with a herby sauce, which was OK. The rice was basmati with some yellow colouring and perhaps a hint of saffron. The nan bread was OK. Overall it wasn't a bad meal, just soulless and that made me sad.

It was just okay. The food was not bad and not expensive, and the staff was friendly but it all came across lacklustre. A bit of a clinical experience. You go in, eat, and leave. No questions asked.

This place is near "Leidseplein" in Amsterdam is located in an alley. Their Butter chicken is recommended but all their dishes are really authentic with rich flavors of the real Indian kitchen. I could eat it everyday for sure!
